The GEMM project (Governance Empowerment Mediterranean Model) held its second transnational meeting on October 29-30 in the city of Cagliari – Sardinia. The meeting constituted a privileged occasion to discuss the results of the “territorial listening” which has been carried by the project in New Al Hashimiya (Jordan), Agadir (Morocco) and Ortakent Yashi (Turkey)

On October 31st 2008, all the GEMM partners were also invited by the Campania Region to attend a seminar on “Archeological and Cultural Heritage for Mediterranean Tourism” which falls under the ENPI and IPA guidelines. The meeting was well attended by the project partners who will be actively engaged in the twining activities and which will allow for a wide dissemination of the project results as well as sustaining its achievement through the creation of a thematic network where the Municipality of Sassuolo (Italy) will play a coordination and a facilitation role.

After a very successful and promising inception meeting in April 2007, the GEMM project (Sassuolo, Italy) has been facing some unexpected difficulties in initiating the activities planned with the project co-leaders.
The project is now in the process of replacing the city of Sale with another partner, while field missions to New Al Hashimiyah (Morocco) and Ortakent Yashi (Turkey) in September and October 2007 respectively managed to put the project back on track.
More information and updates about the project are available on www.gemmproject.eu
